It’s for the love of the game…

They play on diamond cut-outs in the middle of  grassy fields.  They play on manicured carpets of green, glistening under the lights.  They play between the chalk lines in municipal parks surrounded by oak trees.

It’s a new season and the smells are everywhere. The smell of freshly mowed fields.  The new game Jersey and the fresh cap.  The equipment bag and the broken-in catcher’s mitt.

It’s time to think again.  Think of what it will be like to get the big hit, throw the perfect pitch or make that great catch. Think about how good that uniform is going to look in action. Think about new teammates… and old ones, too.

Babe Ruth League players play the game they love in ballparks all over the land.  And over 1 million dedicated Babe Ruth League volunteers teach the game. And in the process, they also teach about respect, teamwork and dedication-the groundwork for becoming good  citizens and neighbors.
